to the seamless functioning of Angels Link Foundation—working together
to fulfil dreams and spread smiles for miles.
When Monika and Kanan introduced me to ALF, there was no question I would let such a blessing go by. Their passion was contagious. There was a precondition of attending 3 events before joining as an angel, but after stepping into that world, I knew this was where I belonged. On 27th September 2010, I attended my first event, and 15 years later, I feel so blessed to be part of ALF. I always say that I take back more than I give, and every event reinforces this truth.
My first experience was at Pragati Vidyalaya (a school for the deaf and mute) during their Diwali celebration. It was like witnessing magic unfold. The once gray, lifeless school were filled with colour and joy, as if transformed by an invisible force. Children were smiling and laughing, engaging in everything from painting to games, and I couldn’t help but feel an overwhelming sense of gratitude for being part of that moment.
The following event was at the Children’s Home in Umerkhadi, at that time, the angels link women were immersed in conducting a lot of activities there, and seeing these angels go in and just make them smile was both heart-wrenching and uplifting at the same time. It made me realize just how blessed I was and how important it is to give back to society.
Monika Bhonsale is a real estate lawyer with over 25 years of work experience and heads the real estate practice at the country’s largest and premier Tier 1 law firm. Monika is widely recognized as a leading expert in the Indian real estate sector and her practice covers a broad spectrum of complex transactions including land acquisitions, redevelopment projects, and title due diligence. Monika has also advised and represented her clients in the largest real estate acquisition in the country. Her professional standing is further underscored by her consistent rankings in premier global legal directories such as Chambers and Partners and The Legal 500, which highlight her expertise in handling high stakes real estate mandates for both domestic and international clients
Monika’s professional discipline is only one half of her story. She believes that true value is created not just in the boardroom, but in the lives of those often forgotten by society. This belief led to the founding of the Angels Link Foundation (ALF) in 2008 alongside her childhood friend, Kanan Shah.
Angels Link Foundation (ALF) came into my life as a blessing—something I truly believe happened because of good karma. What began as curiosity slowly became purpose, and today it has become a lifelong commitment. ALF didn’t just teach me the joy of giving; it changed how I see the world, gratitude, and happiness itself.
My first experience was the Diwali celebration at Pragati Vidyalaya, a school for deaf and mute children. I watched a dull school transform into a space filled with colour, laughter, and magic. Every room was alive with activities—painting, games, and joy. Seeing the children smile filled me with gratitude and a feeling I had never experienced before: pure happiness.
The next event at the Children’s Home in Umerkhadi was a reality check. Watching the angels bring smiles into difficult lives was both heart-rending and uplifting. It made me realise how protected many of us are and how important it is to give back.
“Each Angel has pledged her time and energy to the smooth functioning of the Foundation Together, we transform empathy into action and ensure that every initiative reflects our core values of dignity, respect, and responsibility.”
