Since childhood, I have had a deep love for children, especially girls. It has always been my dream to support underprivileged and needy children and wanted to contribute towards society’s welfare.

About 12 years ago, I came across a photo of Dia Kothari surrounded by young underprivileged girls from an event she held. That moment sparked so much excitement in me, and I was eager to connect with her. She guided me to Kanan Shah. Knowing both Dia and Kanan since our children were in the same school since nursery, I felt an immediate connection.

I am fortunate to be married to a businessman who has always encouraged and supported my passion for philanthropy. However, when I first called Kanan to contribute, my son was just 3 years old, making it difficult for me to engage actively.

In 2015, my sister Kavita Chandan organized a Shoe Drive event in Regina, where I contributed as a donor. Later, in 2017, she worked on Project Chirag. Kavita encouraged me to attend the events. Witnessing the joy on the faces of the families we helped was a moving experience.

Kavita’s dedication inspired me every time we met or spoke, making me realize that this was my chance to become a donor member. I began actively participating in several initiatives with Kavita

In 2018, Kanan invited me to join the ALF, as a member, a perfect platform for channeling my time and efforts into a meaningful cause. Since then, I have found so much fulfillment from our efforts. The innocent smiles, laughter, and happiness on young children’s faces are my greatest inspiration; and their warm hugs, the greatest reward.

I remain committed to serving underprivileged children by donating wheelchairs to those unable to walk, building toilets, and providing financial assistance for study materials and medicines. Being a part of this mission fills me with gratitude, and I look forward to continuing this journey of giving through ALF.
