I am professionally a dance teacher and a mother of a 22 year old boy and run an event company named Niche palette with all this on a platter of work and home I never got time to do something which gave me peace and inner joy.

That  is when I got an opportunity to teach kids in a juvenile centre in Dongri just once a week and I happily volunteered through ALF.

I was always teaching dance to special children but this was quite a different journey.

This is where my joyful journey with alf begun.

Then there was no looking back.

Travelling to rural areas of India to making a difference from a basic need of light by the night to water harvesting for villages to saving a life is what gave me precious moments of memory.

When I joined alf I was a single mother with 6 year old son, and it was such a proud moment when my son Ansh was equally excited and felt responsible to make a difference to the society with whatever little he could manage.

He would enthusiastically attend our monthly events and celebrate his birthday with the ngos we would work with.

Every month a new institution, a new remarkable branch of life , a new set of people we met.

Every person we met had a story one different from the other and how they fight their day-to-day day battles just fir survival is heart touching.

Alf is now that family which we have given birth to,  it’s just not the institutes we work with it’s even us who stand by each other be it our life’s milestone celebration to one needed in low times. Seeking help is a vital part of one’s life.
